Leitura de Produções Artísticas – Activities for 21st. 26th. of December and 2nd. of December – 6 hour class;
You should write a 4-5 page essay and include references. It is not a copy of the text, but a critical reading of the ideas purposed by the texts read in the course. Papers should typed in Word for Windows, Times New Roman font, size 12, and spaced 1, 5 space. If you quote the author or any other work, you should use proper references. Ø  Falling back on the concept of aura proposed by Walter Benjamin in “The Work of Art at the Age of Mechanical Reproduction” and of tradition in “Tradition and Individual talent” by T. S. Eliot, choose two different works or art and compare them. The two works of art you are going to compare must be different: it can be a painting and a movie, or an opera and a novel, or a play and a photograph. You have many options, but you have to choose just two to write your paper. You may criticize or praise the authors selected, but you should demonstrate you have understood the concepts discussed in class.
Note that you will be evaluated in terms of understanding of the text, comprehension and selection of the works of art. Creativity and originality are going to be praised, as long as they are involved with the texts read in class.

You should explain the concept of the aura as developed by Benjamin and demonstrate if there are elements of this idea in the movies selected.
